We stopped believing it would happen ! Stade Toulousain returned to victory this Sunday evening by winning 12 to 11 against Union Bordeaux-Bègles, leaders of the championship.
This success, the first of 2022, allows Toulouse to maintain its place in the Top 6 of the ranking. But above all, the Toulouse people put an end to a series of six consecutive defeats, unheard of since the establishment of the Top 14.
A win without a try
Faced with a Bordeaux leader weakened between duplicates and injuries, Stade Toulousain was able to count on the foot of Zack Holmes to clinch victory. The Australian scored the four penalties whistled in a rather sterile match where Ugo Mola’s men multiplied the inaccuracies.
Maxime Médard concedes a gag try in the in-goal in the 6th minute. The Toulouse back misses his kick on the ball in the Toulouse in-goal. Dubié manages to flatten him and scores the only try of the match.
The Toulousans will have to raise their level of play next Sunday, March 6, for the trip to the Stade Français (9:05 p.m.). Hoping that this victory puts the champion of France and the reigning European champion on the right track.
