He thus withdrew from the Yadana gas field and the gas transport company Yadana , of which he was a shareholder and operator. In March, he said he was not looking “no financial compensation” of this withdrawal.
Since January, TotalEnergies says it has “undertook steps to ensure its withdrawal in a responsible manner vis-à-vis its stakeholders in Myanmar, in particular its employees as well as the local communities supported for a long time”, explains the group. He adds having “worked closely with PTTEP, the Thai national company, which has been designated as the new operator by the project partners, to guarantee continuity of production” and have all of its employees offered jobs with the new operator.
