According to an NGO, TotalEnergies would be involved in the sale of gas condensate in Moscow, which once transformed into kerosene, would be used to refuel Russian combat planes in Ukraine. What is it really ? “It is a three-headed kerosene supply, in which we find the French company TotalEnergies, its local partner Novatek and a third Russian company which is used to exploit the gas field”, explains journalist Jean Chamoulaud. This third Russian company is 51% owned by Novatek and 49% by TotalEnergies.
According to the survey conducted by the NGO, “42,000 tons of fuel were delivered to Russian military bases in five months”. Russian military planes would have taken off from these bases, before going to strike Ukrainian targets. “These tons of fuel are enough to supply 3,400 fighter planes. The last supply would have taken place less than a month ago, on July 27”specifies Jean Chamoulaud.
