(Toronto) Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) announced Friday that it will no longer ask for proof of vaccinations from fans who want to enter its establishments as of the 1er March.
Posted yesterday at 7:02 p.m.
MLSE owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts. The decision comes after the Ontario government’s announcement to speed up the process regarding limits on people in amphitheaters earlier this week.
Initially the capacity was to be 50% from Monday and 100% from March 14. However, on Monday, the Ontario government announced that as of Thursday – yesterday – 50% of the seats could be filled in major sporting and musical events. Limits will be lifted on 1er March.
MLSE clarified that the only exceptions will be in “the case that leagues request proof of vaccination for fans and staff near playing surfaces”.
However, the mask remains mandatory across the province and in MLSE establishments.
“The company could request the vaccine passport again in the future if the epidemiological situation deteriorates”, is it written in the press release.
