Toronto | Pedestrians injured by car pushed onto sidewalk

Pedestrians were injured in a two-car collision that knocked one of the vehicles onto the sidewalk Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

The collision took place at approximately 2 p.m. at the corner of Richmond and Yonge streets. Two pedestrians were seriously injured, and one of the two drivers was pulled from his vehicle by firefighters, Toronto police said in a Facebook post.

A total of eight people – seven pedestrians and a driver – were taken to hospital following the crash, CBC reports.

“One of the vehicles, according to initial reports and investigation, crossed the lane of the other vehicle and hit it, causing the vehicle to tip over onto its side and slide it around the corner. southwest, where there were seven pedestrians, ”Toronto Police Constable Tony Macias told CBC.
