The Florida club scored twice in the first half to claim a narrow 2-1 victory.

Ariel Lassiter scored the winning goal in the 44th minute. The ball ended up on his left foot in the penalty area thanks to a header from Damion Lowe.

The spectacular Lorenzo Insigne buzzed around the hosts’ net early in the game, but failed to reach it with conviction. He did not miss his chance when he perceived an opening, in the 28th, to create equality. His low strike gave Drake Callender no chance, beaten to the bottom right corner of his cage.

Only four minutes earlier, Jean Mota had taken advantage of a stint from Gonzalo Higuain to open the scoring.

Inter Miami climbed to fifth in the Eastern Conference with the victory, while the Queen City club squandered their chance to come within a point of a playoff berth.
