It was an open secret, but now it’s confirmed: Italian soccer star Lorenzo Insigne has struck a deal with Toronto FC in MLS.
The Italian will join the club in July, on a four-year contract.
Badge will have the designated player label. The value of the transfer was not disclosed by the TFC, but Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio puts it at C $ 16.5 million. His salary would also be the highest in MLS history, even beating Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s with the LA Galaxy.

Lorenzo Insigne is 30 years old. He made his professional debut with Napoli in 2009 at age 19, and spent most of his career there. The striker has scored 114 goals and registered 91 assists in 416 games.
He has also played 53 games for Italy since his international debut in 2012, scoring 10 goals.
