Vladimir Guerrero hit two solo home runs and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Texas Rangers 4-0 on Thursday.
Hit in the seventh and ninth, the long balls allowed him to complete his third career season with at least 30 home runs.
One run came on an error and the other on a sacrifice fly by Nathan Lukes.
The Rangers allowed just two hits against Kevin Gausman (13-11) and four relievers.
Gausman had not allowed a hit when he left in the fifth with a lower back problem. He allowed just one walk and had six strikeouts.
“I’m glad I was able to get through five innings,” he said. “It was a weird day for me. I had a no-hitter and I came out of the game, which is crazy. With the way I was, I don’t know how I didn’t give up any hits, to be honest.”
Jays manager John Schneider wouldn’t pull him from the game, but Gausman said he was no longer able to pitch.
“I made sure he knew he had a no-hitter when he told me he couldn’t pitch anymore, but he knew that,” Schneider said. “The pitch count was good, his pitches were good. It was his best slingshot in a while, but I didn’t want to take any chances with the way he was feeling.”
Working three innings, Kumar Rocker (0-1) allowed two runs, two hits and four walks.
Earlier Thursday, the Blue Jays placed Bo Bichette on the 10-day disabled list after the shortstop suffered a fractured right middle finger.
Retroactive to Wednesday, the move effectively ends his season, which has been marked by injuries.
Bichette had two hits and a run batted in a 13-8 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.
He was back after a 52-match absence due to a right calf injury.
In June, he missed nine matches due to the same injury.
Limited to 81 games this season, Bichette hit four home runs and drove in 31 runs. He maintained a batting average of .225.
