(Lakeland) Toby, the son of Toronto Blue Jays reliever Erik Swanson, has been released from the pediatric intensive care unit where he had been admitted.
The 4-year-old boy was struck by an SUV Sunday in Clearwater Beach, Florida, before being airlifted in critical condition to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.
It was Swanson’s wife, Madison, who shared the little boy’s state of health on her social networks on Wednesday evening.
The vehicle that struck the child was driven by an Opal Sands Resort parking attendant. The driver remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the investigation. The exact nature of Toby Swanson’s injuries has not been released.
