(Toronto) Isiah Kiner-Falefa signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, various media reported Wednesday.
Kiner-Falefa, who can play the outfield and third base, reportedly agreed to a two-year pact worth US$15 million.
Last season with the New York Yankees, Kiner-Falefa posted a .241 batting average with six home runs, 37 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.
Over his six seasons in the major leagues, with the Yankees and Texas Rangers, Kiner-Falefa had a .261 batting average and a .316 fielding percentage.
Author of 26 career home runs, the 28-year-old baseballer earned a Gold Glove with the Rangers in 2020.
The hiring of Kiner-Falefa could fill a void at third base for the Blue Jays if Matt Chapman joins another team as a free agent.
