Toronto Blue Jays | A qualifying offer to Matt Chapman

(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays have made a qualifying offer to third baseman Matt Chapman for next season.

Chapman has until November 14 to accept the offer.

If he turned to another club, Toronto would get a pick in the next draft as compensation.

Before the 2022 season, Chapman signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Blue Jays. He spent his first five seasons in major league baseball with the Oakland A’s.

In two seasons with the Jays he hit .235, totaling 44 home runs, 66 doubles and 130 RBIs.

The 30-year-old also received a Gold Glove this year.
