An Amazon warehouse in Illinois collapsed in a tornado on Friday, December 10, killing at least six people. Journalist Laura Aguirre of Carcer is at the scene of the disaster, and takes stock of the situation.
Following the passage of a violent tornado, Friday, December 10, an Amazon warehouse located in Illinois (United States) collapsed. The death toll is at least six. “It’s still dark here, I’m about a hundred yards from the Amazon warehouse. A large security perimeter has been set up around the building. Nevertheless from here we can measure the extent of the disaster“, explains journalist Laura Aguirre of Carcer, live from Edwardsville, Illinois.
The tornado passed through the building and the walls collapsed. “The roof collapsed. For now, the provisional death toll is six according to the fire chief who conducts operations here. 45 people came out of the warehouse alive. The question that remains is ‘are there still people inside the building?’. Research will continue a priori in the next three days“, concludes the journalist.
