Top Chef: Adrien Cachot “on the street”, the finalist facing a last minute disappointment…

He is one of the emblematic candidates of Top chef. Adrien Cachot, finalist against David Gallienne during the eleventh season in 2020, had been able to seduce the viewers but also the chefs of the famous culinary competition of M6. And despite his talent, after filming he lived a few “misadventures“which he details with our colleagues from TV Magazine this Wednesday, April 13, 2022, a few hours before his return as guest conductor in Top chef.

Thanks to his winnings of more than 40,000 euros in the final, Adrien Cachot had plans to open a restaurant, while his called Detour had closed before filming. A plan fell through, covid-19 obliges! However, the young chef had promised himself: it was only a postponement. Except that he had to face new difficulties last year. “I was denied a lot of credits to buy a restaurant. When you want to remain independent, financing remains a problem despite going through Top Chef, he regrets. The banks did not give me an exceptional welcome. And the person who finally sold me the restaurant canceled two days before the keys were handed over. I found myself with all my team on the street.

A blow for Adrien Cachot, who had been a hit with his chip shop. But after the rain comes the good weather. Last October, he took over the kitchen of Le Perchoir in Paris, a few months after serving at the restaurant of the same name in Cannes, in the middle of the Festival. “I only mentioned the negative side, but Top chef opens nice doors, we are still quite solicited by establishments for collaborations. And then the reception of the people is exceptional“, he then clarifies.

This adventure at Le Perchoir will end on April 29, 2022. And for the rest, Adrien Cachot already has his little idea… “I am looking for a place and a space where I can fully express myself in Paris. I don’t lose hope“, he concludes. Maybe this time he will be spared bad luck and he will be able to open his restaurant in Paris…
