Too long campaigns | The duty

Let’s be honest, the vast majority of citizens find election campaigns too long, so much so that some people get fed up at the end and embrace indifference. Take, for example, a municipal election campaign: the territory is much smaller than at the provincial or federal level and involves far fewer participants.

Municipal politics are much closer to the citizen, so this makes it easier for the latter to make a thoughtful choice in front of the ballot box. In addition, the parties involved, those who tell us each time a fantastic revival, would have enough time to make the candidates known and thus promote their program, the themes and issues that will “surely” change the lives of people still living in a certain naivety!

With this in mind, we would avoid stretching campaigns unnecessarily, saving time and money. If citizens, without an analytical perspective, still do not know whom to trust at the end of a campaign, it is clear that they are therefore not interested in this game. In derision, even if an electoral campaign lasted fifteen weeks, we would still find some undecided! In my opinion, three weeks for a municipal campaign is enough to dispel the vagueness!
