Tom Parker (The Wanted) died at 33

At the end of 2020, between the birth of his first child and the announcement of the arrival of the second, the life of Tom Parker took an unexpected turn. The British artist announced on Instagram that he had an inoperable brain tumor: “Hello everyone. You may have noticed that Kelsey and I have been more discreet lately on the networks, it’s time to tell you why. There’s no right way to put it, but I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am undergoing treatment. […] We are devastated by the news but we will fight. We don’t ask for your pity but for your love and all your positivity.”.

After more than two years of battle – the doctors gave him eighteen months to live – Tom Parker gave up his arms. His devastated wife Kelsey said she couldn’t be prouder of him, especially after all the tough chemotherapy he’s been through since doctors diagnosed him. Mother of her two children, Bodhi and Aurelia, Kelsey makes it a point of honor to continue to bring to life this wonderful dad that he has been for them and will continue to be. On March 21, Tom Parker announced the forthcoming release of his book, “a hymn to life“, “book on how to keep hope and approach all the trials of life with positivity”. A project that now sounds like a last farewell.

Tom Parker rose to prominence with the pop group The Wanted. Formed in 2009, the boyband’s popularity only exploded in 2012 with the hit Glad you Came. The five members who are Tom Parker, Max George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuinness surfed on this success to chain the concerts until 2014 and the announcement of their separation. Despite the fight against the disease of Tom Parker, the group had announced its return and the release of a new album. Proof that the deceased artist believed in it until the end.
