Quarterback Tom Brady confirmed on his social networks his retirement from professional football on Tuesday morning.

The 44-year-old confirmed what multiple sources reported last weekend; ESPN said on Saturday that the seven-time Super Bowl winner will not return to action next season.
“I did a lot of thinking last week and asked myself some tough questions. And I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished. My teammates, coaches, opponents and supporters deserve the best of me, but right now it’s best to make way for the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes,” the former wrote.
