“This is a name that could have been on the spine of a book placed right next to other Tolkien classics,” producers JD Payne and Patrick McKay said in a statement. Rings of Power brings together all the major stories that took place in the Second Age of Middle-earth: the creation of the rings, the rise of the dark lord Sauron, the epic of Númenor and the last Alliance between elves and humans. »
The series will indeed take place during a relatively little explored period of the saga written by the British author, which is mostly documented in the appendices of his main novels. The story takes place more than a thousand years before the adventures transposed to the screen by Peter Jackson in the trilogies The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
“Until now, viewers have been able to see the One Ring story on screen, but first there were many,” the producers added. Now we are excited to be able to share the epic story of all Power Rings. »
