Together Constantinople, like on a flying carpet

Each concert of the Constantinople ensemble transports us to another universe. On the Silk Road, between Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan, with detours through all the cultures of the world. Montrealer Kiya Tabassian, master of the setar, has the gift of surrounding himself with virtuosos from elsewhere to envelop us in rich sounds filled with poetry – notably that of Rumi, a 13th century Persian mystice century. Last Saturday, Constantinople captivated the audience at the Bourgie Hall, who had the impression of traveling on a flying carpet to the borders of Central Asia. While waiting for the 2024 concerts, we can feed our ears on digital platforms.
