We could not miss it, Friday, November 19: “Together, citizens!” Is the name of the new movement of Macronists which must oversee La République en Marche, the Modem, Agir or even the very young party of Édouard Philippe , Horizons. Except that, when you dig a little deeper, you find plenty of collectives that already use this name …

There is the Facebook page of Jean-Luc Bottela, former “yellow vest” and candidate in the last municipal elections in Pertuis, in the Vaucluse, and who denounces for example in one of his videos “the denial of democracy by the Macron government” when he used 49.3 on pension reform. There is also an anti-masks and anti-5G collective called “Together citizens” in Belgium, or this self-representation association of people with Down’s syndrome which fights for “exist in society”, but for whom it may be a little more complicated to compete against a presidential movement.

With Together, Citizens !, Emmanuel Macron is in any case once again in the footsteps of Valéry Giscard d’Estaing who launched the constellation of UDF parties for the legislative elections of 1978. It is also in the tradition of all these new party names over the past ten years. Free! for Valérie Pécresse, Ensemble! for Clémentine Autain, or in common! for Barbara Pompili … Impossible to quote them all, especially if they change their name again soon. Suddenly, we can wonder if we will still remember Ensemble, citizens! in a few months
