(Chicago) Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews will be sidelined indefinitely with a concussion.

The 33-year-old Toews was injured in an 8-5 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. However, he played the whole game.

The next day, the centerman reported his symptoms to Blackhawks medical staff.

Chicago’s interim head coach Derek King said there was no timeline for his captain’s return to play. He added that Toews’ condition would be reassessed daily.

Toews has four goals and 15 assists in 43 games this season. He had missed the last campaign due to what he described as chronic immune response syndrome.
