Tobacco trafficking dismantled in the Dieppe region

Tobacco trafficking has been dismantled in the Dieppe region. The gendarmes proceeded on Tuesday March 29 in the morning to the arrest of a couple in Seine-Maritime who were returning from Luxembourg to buy buckets of tobacco there. The Rouen research section had been investigating this traffic for many months. During the searches, large quantities of goods were seized: 155 kilos of tobacco, 180,000 cigarette tubes for a total value estimated at more than 35,000 euros.

The gendarmes managed to identify multiple trips between Seine-Maritime and Luxembourg. THE tobacco purchased on the other side of the border was then resold in the Dieppe sector. The couple will be tried in June for possession of manufactured tobacco without regular supporting documents, a deemed fact of smuggling imports.
