To see this winter | The New York Times chooses a series produced in Quebec

A Quebec production received the seal of approval from New York Times. Somehow is one of the 30 shows to watch this winter, according to the American daily.

Produced by Sphere Media (Cerebrum, One way ticket, Transplant), the comedy-drama appears alongside HBO big guns like The Regime (with Kate Winslet) and True Detective: Night Country (with Jodie Foster).

Filmed in English and offered in French on ICI Tou.tv Extra, Somehow (Sort Ofin original version) paints the portrait of Sabi Mehboob, a millennial of varying orientations, straddling several identities: bartender in an LGBTQ bar/bookstore, youngest child in a Pakistani family and de facto parent of a family of hipsters in downtown Toronto. According to New York Times, Somehow is “contained, perfectly paced and self-consciously whimsical.”

Full of good feelings, this coming-of-age story is broadcast on CBC in English Canada. The series is also distributed in the United States on HBO Max. THE New York Times also selected series like Expatsa Prime Video offering starring Nicole Kidman, Avatar: The Last Airbenderwhich we expect on Netflix on February 22, and Curb Your Enthusiasmwhich will begin its 12e and final season February 4 on HBO.
