To see: La Casa d’Italia, a very public cinema

At the Casa d’Italia, opposite the Jean-Talon metro station, the Public cinema turns its multimedia room into a mini local arthouse cinema. Big screen, 40 seats, unbeatable prices ($10 for general admission, $8 for children, $50 passes for six films), sometimes meetings with the artists. Everything is intimate and very friendly. We recently saw Priscilla, by Sofia Coppola, and we attended two mornings of short youth films, far from the Netflix bill. The kids were running around the mini-proscenium while waiting for the film, no one was bothered about eating their snack. We will return there.
