To see: Jakob Pelletier victim of a dirty attack

Calgary Flames forward Jakob Pelletier suffered an injury after taking a nasty hit during Monday night’s preseason clash against the Seattle Kraken.

In the first period, the Quebecer received a blow to the back, courtesy of defender Marian Studenic in the offensive zone. The hope of the Alberta club then crashed on the ramp. He was escorted off the ice by a trainer and appeared to be injured in the right shoulder.

The Kraken player received a five-minute major penalty and was expelled from the game.

Pelletier is looking to carve out a regular position with the Flames in 2023-2024. Last year, he played his first 24 games in the National League. The Quebec native amassed three goals and four assists for seven points.

The 22-year-old winger was a first-round pick (26th overall) of the Flames in the 2019 draft. Since making the jump to the pros in 2021-2022, he has collected 43 goals and 56 assists for 99 points in 101 games in the American League.
