TO SEE | Convalescing, Jamie Foxx says he “came back from hell” in a funny and moving video

Oscar-winning American actor Jamie Foxx, still convalescing after being hospitalized in April, said he was “back from hell” in a video posted on Instagram overnight from Friday to Saturday, his first public speaking since his health problem.

“Some said I had gone blind, but as you can see my eyes are working perfectly,” the comedian joked, squinting in one eye, in response to speculation about his condition.

“But I went through hell and came back from it, and my recovery wasn’t free of obstacles either,” he says, thanking both his admirers for their support and his family for their discretion.

Suffering from a “medical complication”, the 55-year-old actor was rushed in April to a medical facility in Georgia, in the southern United States, where he was shooting a film for Netflix.

His daughter, Corinne Foxx, insisted on dispelling the rumors a month later, assuring on Instagram that her father had been “out of the hospital for several weeks and (recovering)”.

“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes coming out of my body and trying to figure out if I was going to make it,” he explained to justify his long silence.

“But I’m coming back and I’m able to work,” he said again.

Jamie Foxx notably won the Oscar for best actor in 2005 for his stunning incarnation of singer Ray Charles, legend of soul, in the biopic “Ray”.

He was also nominated for an Oscar for his role in “Collateral” the same year, and also made an impression by playing a slave to conquer his freedom in Quentin Tarantino’s western “Django Unchained”.

He recently filmed “Back in Action” alongside Cameron Diaz, in Georgia.
