Who are the authors ?
Raphael SANE is an ornithologist naturalist guide who lives in Provence. He specialized in the bats of his region (small bats).
Fabrice SCHMITT, also a naturalist ornithologist guide who specialized in the birds of South America, in Chile where he lived for 10 years.
The book:
This little book at a modest price is not a simple compendium of species, but rather a good tool for learning to discover birds. A bit like a detective with good advice for observing but also equipping yourself, because the lookout is sometimes done in rather difficult conditions, with also good advice on observation equipment.
The presentation is pleasant, easy to read, with a few hints of humor, lots of illustrations and a very accessible vocabulary with the added bonus of some practical exercises.
There are not only his descriptions of animals but plenty of other information on their habitats, behavior, flight techniques, etc.
