As every Saturday, Léa Salamé was at the animation of What an era! on France 2. To support him, the permanent guest Christophe Dechavanne as well as the comedians Philippe Caverivière and Paul de Saint Sernin. This Saturday, March 18, 2023, were present, Patrick Bruel, Michel Denisot, Jean-Michel Apathie, Benjamin Duhamel, Anne Rosencher, Pierre Lescure or even Eric Zemmour. The politician, polemicist, journalist was promoting his book I didn’t say my last wordin which he looks back on his failure in the 2022 presidential election.
During his visit, the latter was questioned by the interpreter of the Square of Great Men. “Why did you focus your whole speech, your whole campaign on division? Instead of bringing people together, you are dividing people.”
The host chimed in, saying: “You understand that you can be scary!”
The singer rushed into this breach and asked him “why (he) rides on fears?”reproaching him in passing for putting “all Muslims in the same bag”. Eric Zemmour defended himself by saying: “I made one of my first speeches in Villepinte. I made a distinction between Islam and Muslims. Muslims can have a practice of Islam that is compatible with France”.
