The British are not the only ones eagerly awaiting the coronation of Charles III. French people will also join the party. The 19/20 went to meet them.
They are not British and yet, as the coronation approaches, these French people decorate their house in the colors of the United Kingdom. Settled in London for ten years, they somehow celebrate their new king. “We don’t know that in France, but it’s really part of the identity of the United Kingdom”, describes Amélie Mallet, resident in London. For the occasion, the family also prepares the famous coronation quiche, chosen by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
French pastries bearing the effigy of the coronation
The managers of a French bakery in west London hope that this quiche will be successful. They decorated their shop with the famous Union Jack. The decorations are even on the pastries, with chocolate crests designed for the occasion. “It is impressive as a Frenchman to see this monarchy which continues over time”, says a tourist. They will experience this historic event on Saturday May 6, alongside the British.
