After several dramatic accidents, is it necessary ban hunting on weekends and during school holidays? A recurring question, a few months before the presidential election. In Mohrange, the Federation of Moselle hunters offers its solution, a new training center to learn good practices # ILsOntLaSolution
In Moselle, the Departmental Hunting Federation has created a training center for its 8,000 members. Inaugurated on September 10, this structure provides training in the good practice of hunting.
Recognizing an animal according to the seasons, spotting protected species, knowing how to trap pests (such as nutria) and above all mastering the basics of security: this is the objective of the program. These courses are timely, in the midst of controversy over the practices of hunters.
We did not yet have a training center, we had to adapt, it was difficult. On average, between 3 and 400 hunters are trained per year. Today, we will be able to increase this figure. .

According to the French Biodiversity Office, hunting accidents have decreased by 39% in 20 years. Last year the National Federation of Hunters recorded 136 accidents including 11 fatal. According to the Federation, most often it is the hunters who are the first victims. Better training those who hold a permit is a priority for the federations.
