From minialbum to minialbum, here is the completed album a year later. Mariko’s first, finally. This is the path of several artists now, most often punctuated by various competitions (in his case: My first Place des Arts, Petite-Vallée): it’s not easy to get to the forefront without a lot of steps . The Lanaudoise will have managed to remain faithful to the desired genre: a pop song steeped in the very generic sound of the 1990s. Is that happy? What naturally suited a Marie Carmen does not necessarily suit this fairly gifted young performer, whose rather good voice and honest-level lyrics would have deserved a few more daring detours. The 1990s were also Portishead, Liz Phair, so many others. Of the thirteen titles, we retain Elzear, a few walks, not much more. The more than predictable production of Maxime Reed is certainly to blame. We wish Mariko to trust herself: her songs, folk at the start, did not ask for anything else.
