To better compete with Tesla, Ford lowers the price of its Mustang Mach-E

Recent price cuts across the entire Tesla lineup seem to have encouraged Ford to do the same. The Ford Mustang Mach-E, a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y, thus sees the bill for most liveries decrease by several thousand dollars for the 2023 model year.

The two-wheel-drive Premium version will now retail for $64,995, which is $7,000 less than previously announced and $5,000 less than a standard Tesla Model Y. The latter nevertheless benefits from a much greater autonomy (531 km compared to 397 km) as well as all-wheel drive at no cost.

Apart from the Select version, the rest of the Mustang Mach-E lineup sees its prices reduced by between $4,750 and $8,500. The all-wheel-drive Premium trims equipped with both types of batteries are the winners with the highest discount. It is the GT Performance variant that sees its price drop the least. Ford says all customers who are in line to pick up their 2023 Mustang Mach-E will be eligible for these discounts.

In parallel with this announcement, which undoubtedly goes against the current in an industry which constantly inflates its prices, Ford has specified that it will significantly increase the production of its Mustang Mach-E to meet demand.
