To access Matignon, the National Rally is already preparing new legislative elections

Jordan Bardella’s party is still counting on a new dissolution of the Assembly as soon as the one-year deadline has expired and is preparing its “Matignon 2 plan”.

The RN wants to do everything to avoid reliving the failure of the “Matignon 1 plan”, which did not allow Jordan Bardella to access power last July, and above all revealed dozens of problematic candidates. One posing in a photo with a Nazi cap, while others made racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic remarks on social networks. If Jordan Bardella described these candidates as “black sheep”, an RN leader speaks of “burrs”because the recruitment of certain candidates was done urgently. “burrs” which the RN does not intend to reproduce.

To avoid these casting errors, a member of the management is formal: the screening of the social networks of aspiring candidates will be “systematic”. He goes even further. “There will be a presumption of guilt if the candidate does not want to let us consult his past publications,” he said. In short, if a potential candidate refuses to have his Facebook history looked at closely, it is because he will have something suspicious to hide and it is better to choose someone else. “We have 100,000 members and new members arrive every day, so it widens our pool to find future deputies,” plays down a close friend of Marine Le Pen.

Jordan Bardella has set the goal for his troops: to be ready in March. The RN is therefore organizing, at the end of September, an audit to find out how many new candidates are missing to reach 577. The two deputies in charge of the legislative file, Thomas Ménagé and Julien Odoul, have the mission of selecting and auditioning candidates. The first investiture commission is planned for October. The RN plans to organize at least two per month in order to designate around fifty candidates each time. It should be remembered, however, that the dissolution of the Assembly is an exclusive prerogative of the President of the Republic. Even if an advisor to Marine Le Pen has a different reading. “We will decide when to dissolve, he advances, If we start overthrowing a government every three days, Macron will have no choice!”
