New Year’s Eve: tips for a less expensive and anti-waste meal
New Year’s Eve: tips for a cheaper and anti-waste meal – (France 2)
A few days before New Year’s Eve, brands are slashing the prices of certain products to allow consumers to prepare an anti-waste meal.
For New Year’s Eve, many brands are offering reduced prices in order to encourage consumers to concoct dishes from products that were going to be thrown in the trash. The La Meringaie pastry shop, specializing in pavlovas, uses the Too Good To Go application on which it can sell its products at discounted prices. “It’s very interesting financially, these are products that would otherwise be thrown away. So it avoids waste and allows you to spend New Year’s Eve at a low price.” assures a customer.
Between 30 and 50% off
The Willy anti-waste company also resells unsold items at big discounts. Jonathan Negrin, co-founder of the company, explains that they offer “products that supermarkets no longer want, at super prices between -30 and -50%“. Some supermarkets also offer discounts on products so the expiration date has passed or is about to be.
