Singer Tina Turner has bought herself a $76 million estate! The interpreter of The best left the United States several decades ago when she started dating her partner and current husband Erwin Bach.
After living together abroad for years, the couple finally got married in 2013. For this, the singer even had to renounce her American citizenship. Last September, they decided to extend their heritage to Switzerland, their current place of residence. They then paid no less than 76 million dollars for an estate of 10 buildings on the shores of Lake Zurich. The pair of buyers would have been in competition with tennis star Roger Federer, the Swiss press has revealed, before the latter decided to buy another house in the same community of Staefa Village, on the edge of Zurich.
In an interview with a local media Handelszeitung, the singer’s 82-year-old husband from Germany said the move was made after he and Tina Turner obtained Swiss citizenship.”We feel very satisfied in Switzerland (…) Due to the pandemic and the consequences, we – like many other Swiss people – unfortunately refrain from traveling.” Erwin Bach added that the estate will be for the couple, a “new place of withdrawal for weekends in the immediate vicinity.” Which will allow the singer to rest after being seriously ill. The estate features a private pond, a stream, a swimming pool and a boat deck. For years, the two lovebirds have rented a house, known as of Algonquin Castle in the town of Küsnacht, outside Zurich, until they obtain their citizenship in the country.Indeed, Swiss law severely restricts the freedom to buy property for foreigners on the territory.
