What are the trendiest neighborhoods right now? It is this thorny question that the media has once again tackled Time Outwhich identified 40 places where communities, culture and businesses are particularly dynamic.
This year, downtown Montreal takes a place at 36e rank “despite the works and the cranes” (a poorly kept secret!); it is praised for its many unifying activities, whether in summer (artistic events, circus, etc.) or in winter (illuminated ice ring, restaurants galore), its rooftop terraces and, of course, its festivals like Jazz or Montreal in the spotlight.
Several establishments are cited as examples, such as the Honeyrose hotel, the Yama restaurant, the Four Seasons spa, the Museum of Contemporary Art or the roof terrace of the Hiatus.
The top trio in the ranking is made up of Laureles, in Medellín in Colombia, Smithfield, a district of Dublin in Ireland, and Carabanchel, an area of the Spanish capital.
