As of January 2, 521 facilities had residents positive for COVID-19, for a total of 2,640 active cases. As of December 29, only 90 facilities were affected, for a total of 575 cases.

“With the rapid development and resurgence of COVID-19 cases, the measures applicable in CHSLDs, RPAs and IRs are being tightened, and this, as of now, in order to ensure the safety of vulnerable people”, indicates the Minister of Health Christian Dubé on Twitter.

In CHSLDs and intermediate resources, only one caregiver will be admitted per day. In seniors’ residences, only one caregiver will be admitted at a time, for a maximum of two people per day. In all living environments, a maximum of four different caregivers can help each resident. They will have to present their vaccination passport.
