TIFF prepares in-person events

(Toronto) The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced plans to present more in-person events this fall, including public screenings, an opening night, networking opportunities and an awards gala. price.

Organizers say the 47and TIFF will include 11 days of screenings and events from September 8-18.

They add that this will include networking activities and gatherings that have been reduced or eliminated during the past two pandemic-limited festivals.

Organizers mentioned the return of in-person film screenings, opening night, industry conference, filmmakers’ dinners, industry networking events, press and programming events and the gala of the TIFF Tribute Awards.

TIFF says the health and safety of staff, volunteers, guests and the public “remains at the forefront of TIFF’s planning” and that the festival will continue to follow provincial protocols related to COVID-19.

TIFF also said five film curators would join its programming team, including former imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts festival director in a new role curating Indigenous films from around the world.

Jason Ryle, an Anishinaabe producer and arts consultant from Lake St. Martin, Manitoba, becomes TIFF’s International Indigenous Cinema Programmer.

TIFF said in a statement Thursday that more details about the festival would be announced in the coming months.
