It was in 2017. As a couple for a few years and more in love than ever, Benoît and Charlène joined the “Maison des Secrets” in order to participate in season 11 of Secret Story. Like most former reality TV candidates, the two young people, who are still just as in love, quickly became influencers on Instagram in particular.
Parents of a little boy named Thyam, Charlène and Benoît announced a few weeks ago that they were expecting their second child, a little girl this time. And while they seemed to lead a life without any shadow on the board, the young parents made a sad announcement to their subscribers, this Sunday, June 18, 2023. Benoît indeed took the floor to explain that their son was the victim of an accident. “I am usually a positive person but the course is hard to pass and accept. Seeing him in a wheelchair breaks my heart. So many regrets… But here it is, tomorrow is another day and we have to be up to it and get our heads out of the water for him who is already incredibly strong and for his little sister who will soon arrive” he said, explaining that the 3-year-old boy can no longer walk.
“I’m very sorry today…”
Devastated, he then gives more details on the circumstances of the accident: “The accident happened at the end of the day. I had promised him for a while to buy a bicycle to go for a walk with him in the countryside. Bike received at the end of the afternoon, we go for a walk each his bike then, once in front of the house, I give in and accept that he climbs behind me on the luggage rack to please him! The outward journey went perfectly, a very good father/son moment but lo and behold, a few meters from the house on the way back, Thyam tripped over the spokes of the bicycle wheel… In 2- 3 seconds, it was the drama, the accident!“
Benoît then declares that he feels guilty and blames himself for having wanted to please his son: “Charlène had warned me but, for the pleasure of my son, I gave in, of course, I’m very sorry today“Faced with the serious concerns of the couple’s subscribers, the father of the family ended up reassuring them and he too at the same time gave an update on the state of health of the little boy: “45 days in plaster for his fractured tibia but, at the end, normally no sequelae. In a while, it will only be a bad story“.
