Shutout for Jonas Johansson in Lightning victory

Jonas Johansson stopped 23 shots en route to a second straight shutout, Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist, and the Tampa Bay Lightning crushed the San Jose Sharks 6-0 on Thursday night.

Johansson, who replaces the injured Andrei Vasilevskiy, stopped 32 shots in a 3-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.

The Sharks (0-6-1) still haven’t won after seven games this season. The club’s last victory dates back to 1er last April. Since then, the Sharks have gone 0-11-2.

Brayden Point, Michael Eyssimont, Brandon Hagel, Nicholas Paul and Luke Glendening scored the other Lightning goals.

Mackenzie Blackwood was removed from the game 7:29 into the second period, after giving up five goals on 21 shots, most of them quality shots.

The Sharks have scored eight goals in seven games, hitting the target more than once in a single matchup.

Stamkos made it 3-0 on a five-on-three power play with 42 seconds left in the first period.

The striker equalized Dale Hawerchuk at 39e ranks among the top scorers in league history, with 518. The Lightning captain has 196 power play goals, just one shy of tying Jarome Iginla with 21e place.

Stamkos also tied Ray Whitney at 71e ranks in the NHL in points, with 1,064.
