The Bleeding House of Saint-Quentin

In the small town of Saint-Quentin in the Aisne there was a small house with a totally supernatural history. It is said that in 1985, only a month after moving in, the inhabitants of this house heard noises, similar to cries or moans, without knowing where they could come from.
One fine day, many red stains appeared on one of the kitchen walls. Despite numerous cleanings, the traces kept coming back, all over the house.
Faced with these inexplicable discoveries, the inhabitants of the house called the gendarmerie to remove the doubt. The gendarmes thus decided to barricade the house, thinking at first that these actions were the fruit of neighbors who were trying to frighten them. But seven days later, new traces appeared inside the house, when no one had been able to get there.
After having analyzed these traces, the scientists are formal: it is indeed human blood. Faced with these macabre discoveries, the house was destroyed to build a new one. But during the works, the workers discovered that the house was actually built on an old German cemetery, which had around fifty soldiers who died during the First World War.
Puymartin Castle

Located near Sarlat in the Dordogne, this castle is said to house the spirit of Thérèse de Saint-Clar, a young woman imprisoned by her jealous husband in a tower for ten years, after he discovered his wife in the arms of ‘another man.
It would appear episodically since the 16th century, in the form of a slightly luminous white silhouette, to haunt certain visitors or guests. A true White Lady!

Mortemer Abbey

Reputed to be the most haunted abbey in France, Mortemer Abbey is full of supernatural stories. According to Norman legend, four Cistercian monks, who were assassinated during the French Revolution, would still wander through the cellars of this abbey to taste wine that tastes of blood.
It is also said that Mathilde L’Emperesse, granddaughter of William the Conqueror and grandmother of Richard the Lionheart, was imprisoned in this abbey for 5 years. Since then, his spirit would wander the corridors of this abbey, although his body is buried in the cathedral of Rouen.

Made up of the bones of millions of Parisians, these galleries are said to be haunted by the specter of a green man with horns and goat’s feet, who would bring bad luck to anyone who crosses his path. The forest of Brocéliande

Do you know this mythical forest, located in Brittany? Known for these supernatural stories, this forest will delight fans of Arthurian legends. Indeed, the fairy Viviane would have cast a spell on Merlin the enchanter to condemn him to stay with her forever.
His body would be buried under a dolmen, and his spirit, prisoner for life in the forest, would continue to wander and visit hikers. Some of them even explain bringing offerings to his grave, for luck.
