Three youth novels selected for the 5th edition of the Un livre, une ville initiative

The MIA children’s novels: My augmented reality, The game that wanted my skin and Nish volume 1: The North and the South are the finalists of the 5th edition of the One book, one city initiative which will take place throughout the month of May in Quebec.

This initiative invites Quebec City readers to read, during the month of May, these works written by authors from the Old Capital and Wendake. The 2023 edition, devoted to children’s literature, is aimed at readers aged 10 to 12 and also at older children.

Novel by Fabrice Boulanger, MIA: My Augmented Reality tells the story of Damien, a young man who becomes a paraplegic following a serious accident. He will be at the center of a revolutionary scientific experiment. Everything becomes possible for him with prostheses under the skin, advanced glasses and artificial intelligence.

In the book The game that wanted my skin, by Magali Laurent, Jackson wishes to participate, with his class, in a great virtual game in an augmented reality center. The objective is to eliminate as many goblins as possible. His mother forbids him to wear the necessary glasses, but the young man will become the only one able to save his classmates during this adventure.
