Friday, April 15, believers celebrate Good Friday, in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Three years earlier, it had been ravaged by fire.

Friday, April 15, Christians celebrate Good Friday, the day Jesus died. This date coincides with the three years of the fire of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, April 15, 2019. “It is still one of the greatest days for Christians and praying in front of this monument which has suffered so much, it makes sense on the day when Christ gives his life”indicates a believer in front of the cathedral. “It’s also a symbol of resilience, because not only is it not destroyed, but above all the work started quite quickly (…) it will come out as beautiful as before”adds a woman.

For the first time since the fire, the faithful pray on the forecourt of the cathedral. Their prayers are for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine. A few hours earlier, three members of the diocese of Paris gathered inside Notre-Dame, in the middle of the scaffolding. Within two years, masses will be able to resume in the renovated cathedral.
