Perrine Laffont never stops chaining victories. The native of Lavelanet (Ariège) was competing this weekend in Canada for a World Cup event in mogul skiing, her discipline. After a second place the first day, she won hands down the second round of competition at Mont Tremblant.
At 23, this is Perrine Laffont’s 23rd World Cup title. Since her first Games, at the age of 15, the skier from the Monts d’Olmes has become Olympic champion, World Cup winner and world champion in parallel moguls.
The Ariégeoise is therefore in good shape as the Beijing Olympic Games start on February 4. A deadline obviously marked with a red cross on her agenda and where she would dream of being a flag bearer, she told us.
This victory is all the more reassuring given that Perrine Laffont had a violent crash at Alpe d’Huez – a fall that caused her a concussion. The holidays behind her, Perrine Laffont has definitely recovered well. She even beat the Australian Jakara Anthony and the Japanese Anri Kawamura, current leader of the World Cup.
For the final adjustments before Beijing, the Ariège skier will line up for one last event before flying to China: she has an appointment in Deer Valley (United States), for a new stage on January 13 and 14. .
