The presidential majority is launching a special proxy voting operation for the weekend of May 18 and 19. Supporters of Valérie Hayer will distribute leaflets with this message: “It takes two to get it. Find your other half!”all on a pink and black background with two hands passing an envelope.

The Macronist team hopes “make an impression with this sensual message”, so that voters only think of one thing, will they be there to vote on June 9 or do they need a proxy? It aims to recruit voters far from the polling station on D-day, but also volunteers to vote in their place. On the leaflets, there is the QR code which links to the site responsible for matching supply and demand.

All parties pay special attention to proxy voting, because no one wants to let even a single vote slip away. François-Xavier Bellamy has just sent an email to all LR activists so that they think about making a proxy if they are absent on June 9, since consolidating the base is the basis. The team of Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the PS-Place publique list, will communicate, on the weekend of May 18 and 19, around its dedicated internet page.

Overall, all parties have a “speed dating” of the online power of attorney. Environmentalist Marie Toussaint posted this message on Instagram a few days ago: “Did you know that you could vote green twice on June 9?” It is not a question of fraud of course, but of referring to the tutorial to vote in place of a voter who has gone on the weekend. This is even more crucial for lists in the red zone, Marie Toussaint is at 6.5% in the Ipsos poll for Radio France and a score below 5% is synonymous with zero elected MEPs. Ditto for Marion Maréchal at 6%, “every voice is precious, explains a Reconquest leader, so we are very vigilant about proxies”.

Some began drawing voters’ attention to proxies early on. Since the beginning of May, on all Manon Aubry leaflets distributed by LFI, there is the QR code for proxies. Already several thousand requests according to his team, three-quarters of which are satisfied. This means that a quarter have not yet matched with a rebellious voter not too far away geographically. LFI will relaunch a special proxy operation on social networks when June 9 approaches.

As for the RN, it may well be at 31% in the Ipsos survey for Radio France and “The Parisian” franceinfo, very far ahead of all the other candidates, there is no question of neglecting proxy votes. The headquarters centralizes requests and sends them back to departmental managers to satisfy them, as an RN manager confides, “If Jordan Bardella’s list ends at 29.8%, some will say we have failed!”
