Three years to the day after the assault on the Capitol in Washington in the United States, the American federal police announced, on Saturday January 6, the arrest of three people actively wanted for their participation in this attack. Jonathan Pollock, Olivia Pollock and Joseph Hutchinson were arrested early Saturday at a ranch in Groveland, Florida, according to the FBI statement. They will appear in federal court on Monday.

The three suspects are being prosecuted in particular for assault on civil servants, disturbing public order within the Capitol grounds and violent intrusion without authorization. Police offered $30,000 bounty for information locating Jonathan Pollock, a 24-year-old welder “considered armed and dangerous”.

More than 1,200 people charged

In 35 months of a sprawling investigation still ongoing, American authorities have charged more than 1,200 people, in almost every state in the country, for their participation in the insurrection of January 6, 2021. More than half have been convicted .

These rioters opposed the certification of Democrat Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election on November 3, 2020. Donald Trump has never acknowledged his defeat in this election and vigorously denies having incited his supporters to attack the seat of Congress.
