Three-Rivers | The identity of the victims of the accident on the A-40 is revealed

(Trois-Rivières) The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has identified the two victims of the accident which occurred early Friday afternoon on Highway 40 near Trois-Rivières, in Mauricie.


They are Mélanie Guérin, 43, and François Allaire, 44, both from Sainte-Adèle.

Recall that a vehicle found itself stuck between two heavy goods vehicles and was completely destroyed under the force of the impact following a collision involving two cars and two heavy trucks.

The second car involved was slightly damaged in the accident and its driver was not injured, the SQ said.

The two truckers were not injured, but one of them was still transported to a hospital, said the SQ.

An investigator and an accident scene reconstruction specialist were dispatched to the scene to better understand the causes that led to the collision.

According to their information, traffic was slow in this area at the time of the event. The exact causes and circumstances have not yet been established, however.

Mechanical inspections are also planned on the vehicles involved. The investigation is continuing.
