(Montreal) A 27-year-old Trifluvien died on the night of Friday to Saturday, after his SUV hit a Hydro-Quebec pole.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called around midnight on rue Notre-Dame Ouest, when the driver was unconscious and trapped inside his vehicle. “Extrication pliers were needed to extricate the man from the carcass of the vehicle,” said the Trois-Rivières Police Department in a press release.
The victim was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the hospital.
“Investigators will continue to work with the coroner’s office to try to determine the circumstances surrounding the death,” police said.
