After the victory of Pascal Ackerman, the 12th stage, 179 kilometers long, will take the riders from Bra to Rivoli on Thursday 18 May. With 2,300m of elevation gain and above all a second category climb 30 kilometers from the finish, victory could be disputed between seasoned fighters, members of the morning breakaway or between sprinters who pass the “bumps”.

After an 11th stage marked by numerous crashes, which led in particular to the abandonment of his teammate, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers), is still leader of the general classification with two seconds ahead of his main opponent: Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), who also fell on Wednesday. The podium is completed for the moment by the Portuguese of the UAE, Joao Almeida, third at 22 seconds behind the leader.
