The Somme firefighters were called to the cathedral of Amiens, this Saturday August 13 around noon, following the triggering of a fire alarm under the roof. They had to evacuate the building the time to verify the presence or not of a fire. Finally, three pigeons caused the untimely alert.
These pigeons kicked up dust as they flew and triggered an ultra-sensitive surveillance head, located 42 meters high under the roof of the cathedral. Laetrés firefighters notably dispatched a large ladder and three means of fire, indicates Commander William Chatet, center column leader. The cathedral must now “call on a private company to capture the three pigeons“and avoid a new untimely alert, he adds. The building, evacuated during the firefighters’ operation, is reopened to the public.
