(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs awarded defenseman Simon Benoit a three-year contract extension on Friday.
The average annual value of the pact is $1.35 million, the club said.
Aged 25, the Laval resident has one goal and five points this season, in 54 games.
Benoit scored five goals and 20 points in the NHL in 191 regular season games.
The former Shawinigan Cataractes also played with the Anaheim Ducks.
The Maple Leafs will be at the Bell Center on April 6.
